FOUNDERS BALL PARK Local fan, Al Lahoot, began acting like a regular baseball hall of fame legend after catching a fly ball in his beer at the bottom of the sixth inning Monday night.

“The batter hit the ball straight up and I wasn’t even paying attention, I was gabbing to the guy next to me when shazam I caught the ball right in my IPA draft,” said Al as he hopped in the back of another fan’s pictures saying “the paparazzi is already all over me.”

"Al's been walking around, offering to sign autographs like he's Babe Ruth,” said food hawker Wanda Nelson as she tried to scrub an autograph off her hand where Al scribbled his name in marker. "It's aggravating, I once caught a fly ball in my food tin and was ejected from the game for interference!"

Despite the critics, Al continued walk through the stadium like he had a batting average of 1.000 stopping every now and then to hold up the beer cup like it was made of 24 karat gold and wait for applause from the stands.

“I shouldn’t be surprised I caught it, I mean you train for days like this,” said Al talking like he spent his winter in Florida training with the major leagues as he pointed down to an outfielder saying “we got this one!”

It wasn’t long before Al made his way into the dug out high-fiving players saying, “I’m pretty much carrying the team fellas let’s win this one for the fans.”

Head coach, Murph Sullivan, said every player should be more like Al.

“It’s players like Al that hold the team together, and if it takes catching the ball in a beer cup then that’s what this team is going to have to do, ” said Al as the players groaned and whined that Al wasn’t even on the field and the catch had ZERO weight to the game. “On Monday, we start training Al’s way,” continued Murph as he tipped his hat towards Al.

Al was seen smugly walking around the dug out with a baseball bat tapping it on the ground saying “sucks to be a coach’s pet sometimes, but hey when you’re good you’re gonna have haters that’s just how it is.”

Al was seen completely blowing the game as he went up to bat wildly missing every ball before attempting to say the game was “rigged” and the league is just after him because he’s the best.
