Dive Bar That Keeps Christmas Lights Up All Year Goes Extra Mile To Distinguish Holiday Season By Adding Single Garland Over Doorway

Open door showing snowy scene with lamppost. Brick walls with holiday lights. Sign reads "Karaoke Night Every Day of The Year! 7PM." Festive mood.

BUCKETS Local dive bar, Buckets, officially ushered in the holiday season when manager and long-time bar keep, Fendi Lawson, stepped up and added a single strand of tree garland like a scruffy mustache over the entrance doorway to the bar.

Fendi said it took a full day's work to get the strand hanging just right and he hopes customers stop and take a look before mindlessly blowing into the establishment.

“I hammered away for a whole afternoon to get perfect placement over the doorway,” said Fendi as he adjusted his tool belt and attempted to hang a single stocking from a ceiling tile, “people come in here and want ambiance, I make sure they get that here.”

Fendi was seen abandoning the stocking from the ceiling after a chunk of plaster fell from the sheer .1 pound weight of the decorative item circling back to discuss his original plan.

“I planned on hiring a Santa and reindeer to hang out on the roof of the place for the month, but ahh, ultimately I figured the crowd is too tough here for Santa Claus,” said Fendi loudly looking around waiting for someone to jump in and say “that’s genius Fendi!” but was disappointingly met with blank stares. “That’s when I decided to just do the garland.”

Local Buckets regulars admired the addition of the 7-inch piece of garland string calling it “showstopping” and “packed with holiday spirit.”

“I never knew what time of year it was when I was in here but the garland clears that up,” said longtime regular Bianca Patton, “I always thought it was the holiday season but now I know for certain that it is. There’s no confusion, which is nice after a fishbowl of manhattans.”

Fendi was seen kicking back with a beer to admire his long day of holiday construction but was soon put back to work when the garland was pulled from its perch by a wind gust like a leaf in October and blew out the door the second another customer walked in.
