UPTOWN — Band teacher of community music group “Town Tunes”, Jetta Notes, was seen directing Hot Cross Buns at an annual town brunch gig like a stadium rock concert after "reading the room" and deciding "now is the time to rip!"

The setlist included songs like Hot Cross Buns, selected for its soft nature to play quietly behind the buffet as a light form of background music, until Jetta attempted to turn the event into a rip-roaring Duran, Duran-esque rock-style concert.

“Jeremy hit the drums!” yelled Jetta as Jeremy, a percussionist-in-training, hustled to hit the notes in Hot Cross Buns before stage fog was released.

“C’mon, keep up!” continued Jetta as she prompted the wind-chimist, Gust Puppins, to double as the lighting effects team. “ANDDDDDD symbols!” yelled Jetta as the band hustled to keep up with the pace of rock n’ roll.

The crowd at the community luncheon was taken aback by the nature of the concert, saying they didn’t expect this so early on a Sunday morning.

“What the hell is this?” said local brunch attendee Ralph Mops, as Jetta ran to attempt a guitar solo, “Hot Cross Buns can literally be played by a single clarinet,” heckled Ralph as stage fog-billowed from the Town Tunes make-shift stage in the corner of the function room.

Band members began to lose interest in the performance as soon as a tray of scrambled eggs and muffins was placed at the breakfast bar.

“That’s it! If you’re a quitter, lay down your instruments, I’ll finish this myself for chrissakes!” yelled Jetta about the 3-note song as the musicians shuffled out of the band area into the buffet line, “Now, drum Jetta!” she yelled to herself as she played with the glory of a ’70s rock hero.

Jetta was seen jumping into the crowd, hoping to be caught like a famed rockstar, when she toppled a French toast accoutrements bar, with brunchers angrily blaming Jetta and the Town Tunes for ruining their shot at a fully loaded slice of French toast.
