MAIN STREET CAFE — Early Saturday morning, Main Street Cafe unveiled a framed picture of their new menu special like it was a Picasso painting.

A red table napkin was draped over the picture on the wall, until the manager clapped two spatulas together and made a brief announcement at which point the cook lifted the red napkin revealing the new waffle special that included four stacked waffles with a side of home fries.

“I thought they were about to show us The Moulin de la Galette,” said diner Fred Stevens, as he quickly web searched a famous Picasso painting for the sake of this comment.

Diners were allowed to come look at the framed menu special but no flash photography was allowed as to not fade the color of the pepper seasoning on the home fries.

The manager used a whisk to point out and note the fine curvature of the waffle corners and the subtle lines of syrup.

“It really spoke to me,” said diner Barbara Cottonington as she stood staring at the framed menu item, “it reminds me of the simplicity of my youth.”

Barbara was ushered away to allow others to look at the waffle stack but not before she snapped a picture on her camera which made the framed menu item turn to gray and disintegrate immediately.
